    Please be patient as we work on providing more information on the responsibilities of state senators in the Legislature and the county board members - known as Commissioners in some counties and Supervisors in others.  See Douglas County Commissioner job description.

    From our newsletter - here are some sample ideas of what you might like to communicate to your representative in the Legislature or on the County Board.

    Example Idea #1: Dear Senator, Thank you for wanting to do something about property tax. My suggestion is…..

    Example Idea #2: Dear Senator, Sometimes I watch the Legislature online. It concerns me that many of the senators are off talking to someone else and not even listening to what you were saying. Could something be done to increase decorum during legislative sessions?

    Example Idea #3: Dear Commissioner, Recently I learned the County Board has refused to accept federal money tied to ICE. I understand it means immigrants have to travel to North Platte for court. Can you help me follow your reasoning?

    Example Idea #4: Dear Commissioner, The proposal to discontinue inheritance tax concerns me. If that revenue is lost, what services do you think might be cut?
