Serve on a 7-member board that oversees determining transit routes, fixing rates and fares, and managing related facilities. In summary, the RMTA ensures efficient and accessible public transportation, collaborates with municipalities, and plans for future growth and representation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Serve on a 7-member board that oversees determining transit routes, fixing rates and fares, and managing related facilities. In summary, the RMTA ensures efficient and accessible public transportation, collaborates with municipalities, and plans for future growth and representation.

Requirements for the position

Registered voter in the district, no financial/business connections to the Transit Authority

Other information

Ideally, a board member would have either direct or closely indirect experience in public transportation use.

Term of office

For odd-numbered districts, 2 years to start, will be 4 years after next election. Even numbered districts have a 4yr term.

Partisan?

Non-partisan

When election is held

In the future, odd-numbered districts will be along with governor elections, even-numbered districts will be along with presidential elections.
