Members are to attend all board meetings, meet with district representatives, come up with solutions, work with the Legislature.
Requirements for the position
Registered voter (so 18 or older) and resident of the district.

Statement from office holder: recognizes how school districts’ decisions affects education of children in poverty, how the Legislature’s decisions affects students, how race can be an issue, how prison systems are impacted by lack of good education.

4 years

Nonpartisan
When election is held
Every 4 years. Top two candidates win though voters only vote for one.
