How office affects the voter
Determines and fixes- all water and natural gas rates,- conditions and methods of service- collection of charges for service or sale of water or natural gasCan cut off gas/water service for nonpayment, can charge additional rate for restoring gas/water service.Has authority to follow the specific rules and seek approval for eminent domain if private property is required for gas and water.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide safe, reliable water and gas service
- Ensure cost efficiency and maximum efficiency of all assets
- Aggressively grow revenues and look for and develop new sources of revenue
- Work with and support management’s developing multi-year strategies to ensure long-term service reliability and competitive prices
- Coordinate with management to be aware of any major daily incident that has an impact on the utility and/or the public
- Ensure public confidence

Requirements for the position
Must be a registered voter and reside in the MUD subdivision you wish to run in and represent. There are 6 subdivisions and the geographic boundaries for each can be found on MUD's website.
Other information
Office holder states duties are: Ensure the total safety of all employees and the public being served; ensure public confidence in knowing and believing service is safe and reliable; maintain open communications with the public.

There are eight geographical districts. Board members are elected for six-year terms.
