Job Description
How office affects the voter
Educational Service Units (ESU’s) were created by the Nebraska Legislature in 1965 to
provide shared educational resources for smaller school districts. For example, a
speech and language teacher could serve several schools in different districts as part of
an ESU. There were originally 19 ESU’s.
Duties and Responsibilities
The board of the Educational Service Unit shall determine the participation of the Educational Service Unit in providing supplementary educational services. Each individual ESU determines which educational services they will provide for their group of school districts.
